History

Our parent company Fly By Night was conceived in 1977, providing sound, lighting and entertainment for private parties. The organization was incorporated in 1989. At present, the corporation maintains a fleet of five trucks each stocked with back-up equipment. Being as a two person operation in the late 70's, our team now includes ten field technicians, eight music designers and an office staff of five. Our professional office staff includes our Founding President, Ross Unger; CEO, Claire Unger; Account Sales Manager, Larry Barnett; Director of Operations, Glenn Schultz; and Operations Manager, Mike Sisk. The office integrated computers in to sales and operations in 1985 and today our eight-workstation network manages every aspect of our operation. Every tidbit of information provided by our clients is carefully entered and tracked in our client database. First online in 1995, our web presence represented by this site provides information and interactivity.


Goals

FBN's primary goal is to be the leader in audio visual rentals and staging, constantly improving our service and expanding to meet the needs of our clients and staff. We continually monitor the latest in technology to incorporate the most state-of-the-art equipment and services in the audio visual services industry. Our overall goal is to contribute to the well being of all people through example, service, and support of our community & charitable organizations.


Event Planning

We have a full office staff to meet your needs at every step of your planning process. The office staff is available 9:00am to 6:00pm (Monday through Saturday). We will lead you through each important planning detail: 1) organizing the sequence of events. The enclosed Questionnaire, Planner and Music Suggestion Sheet can assist with this step. 2) plan out the music you want the music technician to incorporate in your event. 3) discuss the emcee requirements you may need. 4) consultation on structuring the configuration of your event and detailing out your equipment needs.


AV Presentation with Music

FBN is uniquely qualified to offer a service that most AV companies do not offer! Imagine the incorporation of a music designer to enhance your event. Our extensive music collection is the result of twenty-five years collecting and cataloging the hits in almost every imaginable genre! From dance and rock to alternative, country, oldies, swing & jazz, there are selections for all musical tastes. Our Music Manager maintains a full archive of music and is available for any musical questions you may have for your event. Our office staff can offer personalized consultation on how best to add flavor to your presentation with music. Our music resources are available for specified needs at all of our events. Predetermined music selections are available to all events through our in house music consultant. Each emcee arrives at your function with the song titles that you have pre-selected for presentation intros & outros or background music. We have a vast music library that includes approximately 150,000 titles. All music is provided on either Mini Disc or CD to provide the best in audio performance.


Equipment

FBN audio, video and lighting components are carefully purchased units that meet the needs for exceptional sound and visual quality. Each piece of equipment is thoroughly tested by the Equipment Manager before it arrives at your function. Custom systems and accessories are available upon request. FBN offers state-of-the-art equipment with a professional appearance to match. On the upcoming pages, there is a list of individual items assist in selecting which items are the best match for your function.


Set-Up Information

When a booking is secured with FBN, our office staff will promptly contact the location at which your event is being held to inform them of the date and time of performance, the dimensions of the space requirements, and to request adequate power. The Operations Manager then schedules equipment and personnel depending on the specific needs of your presentation. On the day of the event, one or more skilled technicians arrive at least one hour before the scheduled start time. All equipment is set up and tested. The Operate Technician or Crew Chief then changes into appropriate attire and begins final preparations. Additional support and resources are always available by a cell phone call away. An office manger is on duty whenever a function is being performed.
